Where is Alaska Zoo Located
In 1966, the paper company crown cellular Bach held a competition. The Grand prize was “win $ 3,000 or a baby elephant.”.
To the surprise of all, the winner wanted the elephant and so an Asian elephant was brought to Alaska. Finally, the owner offered the elephant to Mrs. Seawell because they were the only stables in the area. In 1968 these and a small group formed a non-profit community and, in 1969, the Alaska children’s Zoo opened its doors and took in orphaned and injured animals.
