La Marsa is a district of Tunis and is located in the northeast of the metropolis. The district of La Marsa has about 77 900 inhabitants, while the town centre has about 36,200 inhabitants. Wealthy Tunisians prefer this neighborhood because of its location on the Gulf of Tunis and the better climate. La Marsa has managed to maintain the character of a prosperous village and is one of the most popular seaside resorts. The district stretches between the hills of Sidi Bou Said and the rocks of Cap Gammarth.

The cottages and resorts are located directly on the Gulf of Tunis, about eighteen kilometres North-East of Tunis, and six kilometers North of La Goulette. Both places are among the most popular destinations of the capital city residents.
