Where is Adama (Nazret) Located?

Nazareth or even Nazaret is a city in the north of Israel in the historical Galilee countryside. Since the Middle Ages it has been inhabited mainly by Arab Christians. Together with its sister city Natzerat Illit (Upper Nazareth), Nazareth has a population of about 120,000 (as of 2005); Nazerat Illit has a population of 55,000, and Nazareth 65,000.

While Nazerat Illit is predominantly inhabited by Jews, the Nazareth population is predominantly Muslim, large parts of the population are Christian. The special importance of today’s Nazareth is that it is considered to be the home of Jesus.
