Brief description the Park, dating back to 1916, includes Atlantic beaches, mixed and coniferous forests, mountains and lakes, and some offshore islands.
Situation in the East of Maine, on Mount Desert Island near Bar Harbor
Visitors main season are July and August
Size: approx. 160 sq km
Open all year round, some roads are closed in Winter.
Arriving from Bangor there is a public Bus to the Park.

The Park offers opportunities for Hiking, Cycling and exploring the coast.
Cross-country skiing is possible in Winter.
