I was very excited about Springfield, Missouri, because I had heard a lot about the excellent pubs and Restaurants as well as the huge Bass Pro Shops.

First of all, I got off at the Best Western Route 66 Rail Haven Motel. The Exterior is reminiscent of the 1950s, but the rooms are modern, clean and very comfortable. The Elvis Presley room is equipped in honor of the Kings, has stayed several times at the Motel, with an Elvis Cadillac-bed, and various memorabilia.

Springfield is the birthplace of Route 66 and even the visitor information centre presents the Look of the 1950s, and with countless Souvenirs of Route 66. The staff are like everywhere in Springfield incredibly friendly.
