Brazil, with an area of 8.5 million km2, is the largest country in South America, and also the most populous : 170 to 199 million inhabitants, according to the sources. It is bordered to the North by Venezuela, to the North-East by Guyana, Surinam and French Guiana, and to the Atlantic; to the East and South-East by The Atlantic; to the South and South-West by Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay; to the West by Bolivia, Peru and Colombia.
