Flag of Algeria

Algeria is a Northern African state with an area of 2.38 million km2. It extends, in a north-south direction, from the shores of the Mediterranean to the most barren parts of the Sahara, a little to the south of the 20th Meridian; it is bounded to the West by Morocco and to the East by Tunisia, forming with these two countries only a single natural region, the whole of which, if one adds the north of Libya, constitutes the old barbaric states.
