Colorado State. It is located in the Southwest United States of America. The rugged terrain of the cordillera of the Rocky Mountains dominates the middle of its west side.
Traditionally, Colorado has had a high-level education system and public support for the arts is famous, as evidenced by the quantity and quality of cultural and artistic institutions in the state. The University of Denver (1846) and the University of Colorado (1912) stand out, both located in the state capital. The most outstanding museums in Colorado include The Art Museum, The Natural History Museum and the National Heritage Center of Colorado, all located in Denver as well.
Many of the state’s tourist sites pay tribute to the former inhabitants, explorers and settlers of the territory. Some of them are: Pike’s Stockade, built in 1807 and later rebuilt in Sanford, the native dwellings of the ‘men of the rocks’ (the so-called cliff-dwellers) and the villages of Mesa Verde National Park.
