Baltimore. It was founded on July 30, 1729, and its name was written for history in honor of the First Lord Baltimore owner of the province of Maryland, Baltimore meaning Irish city of the Big House. It is the most populous city in the U.S. state of Maryland.

The city evolved on the banks of the Patapsco River and is located in the center of the state. since its inception it has become a gigantic port area and due to its geographical location on the east coast of the country it is the closest port to the Midwest markets.

Baltimore was founded on July 30, 1729, and its name was recorded for the story in honor of the First Lord Baltimore owner of the province of Maryland. The official name of Lord Baltimore was Cecilius Calvert the son of George Calvert, first Baltimore Baron of Cork County, Ireland.

Baltimore has since its inception become a gigantic port area and due to its geographical location on the east coast of the country it is the closest port to the Midwest markets. According to its history, Baltimore became in ancient times the second port of entry of immigrants into the country.

The city is also noted as a center of great development manufacturing but after the fall of these productions, the economy of Baltimore is re-oriented towards the service sector, among which stand out the center of entertainment, shopping and tourism of Harborplace, the Johns Hopkins University, the National Aquarium of Baltimore and the Johns Hopkins Hospital.
